Job Openings Grew 1.74% Nationwide in July 2014 Job Openings Grew 1.74% Nationwide in July 2014 Job openings rise in July During July Simply Hired saw substantial increases in the number of job listings in nearly every U.S. metro area. Pittsburgh, PA (3.56%), Sacramento, CA (3.58%) and Tampa St. Petersburg, FL (3.07%) experienced the largest increases. Industries that enjoyed the most growth in July included technology (7.72%), hospitality (7.31%), and retail (6.96%). Most occupation categories (45 out of 54) also experienced growth in openings, led by psychologist (10.42%) and equipment installation (5.34%) roles. Health care continues as industry with greatest job inventory, with nearly one-half of top posting companies coming from the health care sector. A Word from Simply Hireds CEO James Beriker The Simply Hired August Employment Outlook shows clear improvement in the U.S. job market this summer, with a 10.6% surge in job listings in June 2014 and an additional 1.74% increase in July 2014. WeĆ¢re seeing broad-based growth across metros, industries and occupations, and paying close attention to gain in the retail sector as merchants begin to ramp up seasonal hiring plans.
